Racing Heroes

Racing-Insider’s hall of fame includes the fastest horses and greyhounds, the people who rode the equines to the finish line, and the racecourses that created myth and legend.
It is a fact that horses may have enjoyed more prominence than the greyhounds. Nevertheless, it is also an undeniable truth that the sport required the development of special places. The needs of each race requirements demanded it. And they have been developed in luxury and grace, so that kings, queens, princes and princesses would consider it a must, to be present. In fact, some of the events in the calendar are of such prestige, that it is more or less a disgrace for a member of the Royal Family not to attend.

International thing

However, it is not only the United Kingdom that enjoys famous horse and greyhound racing.  It would be quite remiss from us not to include locations in other continents, where the races also enjoy fame and glory. Not to mention, of course, large sums of money for the winners of the various competitions. Especially horse racing is quite a costly endeavor. The rewards must be equally compensating. Punters do not consider it as a surprise that there are plenty of Sportsbooks and Exchanges that pay special attention to both kinds of racing. In the history of sports betting, the top examples of huge profits out of measly wagers, have spawn out of horse racing. The record goes to a Mr Fred Craggs who paced a 50-penny wager on an 8-horse accumulator at odds @2,800,000 to 1! Restrictions of the era did not allow him to collect all of the winnings. The actual payable sum was 1,400,000 pounds, however, he collected only 1 million. Wouldn’t you want to place a wager With such a threshold of winnings?
