This is a hurdle race type as the name implies. It was inaugurated in 2008 and named in memory of David Nicholson who enjoyed a successful career in National Hunt racing as a jockey and trainer. It used to have a Grade two status and was later on upgraded to a Grade 1 status from 2015 running.

David Nicholson Mares' HurdleWhiteoak with age 5 and trained by Donald McCain was victorious in the first contest. It was followed by Quevega who dominated the contest with six consecutive victories in the race from 2009 to 2014. Quevega was also 5 years old when he won his first contest and was trained by Willie Mullins. Afterward, we had Glens Melody who won in 2015, and Vroum Vroum Mag who won the following year both of them at age 7. Both Glens Melody and Vroum Vroum Mag were trained by Willie Mullins.

In 2017 Apple’s Jade was victorious with age 5 and trained by Gordon Elliott. After Apple’s Jade, Benie Des Dieux and Roksana both with age 7 won in 2018 and 2019 respectively. Additionally, they were trained by Willie Mullins and Dan Skelton respectively. Quevega, Vroum Vroum Mag, and Benie Des Dieux all had Ruby Walsh as Jockey. Whiteoak had Jason Maguire, Glens Melody had Paul Townend, Apple’s Jade had Bryan Cooper and Roksana had Harry Skelton.

To conclude with this statistics we see that Willie Mullins is the leading trainer with nine victories in the race and with eight in a row. Six from Quevega, then two from Glens Melody and Vroum Vroum Mag. These eight consecutive wins represent an incredible record for the trainer.

In addition, we notice that Ruby Walsh is the most successful jockey in the race, having been on all of Willie Mullins’ winners except for one, Glens Melody. Over the years, the Racing Insider team has been traveling looking for horse and greyhound races, giving you the best news about outstanding races, winnings and providing you the most recent news. More than a job, this is the way we like to live and that is why we spend so much time bringing the best site for you to look at horse and greyhound racing.

Faugheen rolled back the years to add a Grade One triumph over fences to his list of major achievements when winning the Matchbook Betting Exchange Novice Chase at Limerick. The 12-year-old, ridden by Patrick Mullins, pulled clear to finish some eight lengths clear of his nearest challenger and seal an 11th Grade One victory — his first over.

Patrick rode the 600th winner of his career when The Big Getaway, trained by his father Willie, took the bumper at Punchestown on Saturday, November 16, 2019.

Faugheen's spectacular winFaugheen is an Irish Thoroughbred racehorse best known for winning the 2015 Champion Hurdle and back-to-back Christmas Hurdles in 2014 and 2015. His best performance on a racecourse came in the 2016 Irish Champion Hurdle for which he was rated the best two-mile hurdler of the 21st century. His career started over Point-to-point fences as a four-year-old and was sent racing under National Hunt rules in the 2013/2014 season where he emerged as a leading Novice hurdler, winning all of his races including the Dorans Pride Novice Hurdle, Cheltenham Novices Hurdle and Herald Champion Novice Hurdle acquiring the nickname “The Machine” in the process.

Trainer Willie Mullins said he was “absolutely delighted” with a “hell of a performance” by his charge, adding: “He may be 11, rising 12, but he deserves to go for one of the big races at the Dublin Racing Festival at Leopardstown.

Nine times victorious at the top level over the smaller obstacles, the 2015 Champion Hurdle hero showed he was still a formidable force – just days short of turning 12 years old – to lower the colors of another star name in Samcro.

Faugheen enjoyed himself out in front in the hands of Patrick Mullins, but his market rival was never too far away. Tintangle tried to keep tabs on the big two, but fell five fences from the finish, leaving the market principals to fight it out.

Faugheen, trained by Willie Mullins, jumped the last two obstacles in great style and pulled clear to win by 10 lengths. Castlebrook Lad was 22 lengths back in third place.

Mullins was at Kempton to see Footpad finish third in King George VI Chase – and nominated the Flogas Novice Chase at Leopardstown in early February as the likely next target for Faugheen. He said: “To go toe-to-toe with Samcro over the last six furlongs was very good. He did what he always does, in that he gallops and jumps.

Over the last few years, the Racing Insider team has been traveling to watch different horse and greyhound races, looking for trustable sites where to bet on our favourite sports and giving you the best news about the best races, tips, and advice on how to manage your money via different payment methods accepted by the best bookies and exchanges. More than a job, this is the way we like to live and that is why we spend so much time bringing the best site for you to look at horse and greyhound racing. Having said this, we want you to be part of this journey of fun and take the betting world as one of your hobbies and not an addiction. Responsible gambling is a serious topic and we all need to make sure that we are on the safe side of it.

Be Gamble Aware In a few words, responsible gambling, also known as responsible gaming, means to play and bet in a safe, secure, and fun way, avoiding any type of negative consequence or irresponsible betting style. In order to accomplish this practice, we just need to make sure we know the difference between both sides of the coin and follow simple rules that comply with gambling responsibly every single time we want to make a bet.

The basic parameters you need to follow to enjoy the betting world are mentality, knowledge, money, and time. This might sound too deep and shuffling, so we prepared a small list of things you have to keep in mind to gamble responsibly.

– Play and bet for fun, like a hobby, not because you need money or you want to avoid a problem.
– Take into consideration that gambling can lead both to win and lose money.
– The multiple betting options are carefully designed, so the chances of winning big amounts of money with a small risk are unlikely to happen.
– Assign a defined amount of money for your bets. This works like all the needs you have in your life; the same way you take money for your food, bills, clothes, etc., you must take money to have fun while betting. Do not compromise the money you have to cover other needs.
– Do not follow or try to recover your losses as the odds of losing money will always be the same.
– Set a limit time for gambling. Just like you assign a definite amount of money for playing, do the same with the time you take for betting.
– Do not let the gambling affects or make the distance between you and your friends and family.
– Avoid gambling during difficult economic or emotional times, as self-control can be more sensitive and it might lead to irresponsible gaming.

Gambling is not an easy way to make money and luck does not work as we believe it does. There are simply odds and the chances between winning and losing are the same – 50% for each. Many people will say they have a lucky number, the perfect strategy, or the knowledge to beat a certain slot but those are nothing else than myths. The reality is that gambling must be just another hobby and not a way to solve your financial problems.

If you think you have a problem with gambling or know someone who might have it, there are tons of free websites where you can get help about responsible gambling. Most of them are confidential and anonymous in case you don’t want to share it with everyone. Be part of responsible gaming, promote a balanced style of play and most importantly, have fun!
